Yep, this is our new project!

Here are some specs:

Video: x264, R2J DVD source
Audio: AAC 70 kB/s (Dragon Ball is an old anime so even a higher bitrate would do no good :/)
Subtitles: ASS softsubs

About the release: yes, I know there's a version of DB done by a different group, but please take a second to look at this one: the file size is a freakin' 78,5 MB per episode! And, of course, the quality is the same, or even better than other releases!
How is this possible? Drop by our channel and I'll tell you :)

Oh, and the previews are translated by me (since they weren't inlcuded in releases outside Japan, afaik), so bare with me and my typos wink

Recommended steps for correct playback: I strongly recommend installing Haali Media Splitter - otherwise you might not be able to see the OP/ED!
If you want to see the OP/ED the files containing them *must* be in the same folder as the episode - you can rename the files - just don't remux them (for example, using MKVToolnix).

This is because this release uses ordered chatpers - a nice feature from Matroska - the truth is every episode contains only the 'story' + preview, however the OP and ED are added in the right places, making it look like a complete episode! This is a great bitrate saver - since the OP and ED are the same for evey episode, why have them in multiple copies? ;)

If you didn't understand that, don't worry - just make sure the OP and ED files are in the same folder as the episode and you have the Haali Media Splitter installed and you should be fine :) Drop by our channel for more assistance ^_^

This is a complete release, i.e. every episode has OP, ED and a preview :o AFAIK, this has not been done before. I will be releasing the whole series - 1-153 :D

Sal: afaik, the R1 DVDs (i.e. the one that A-S used, but I could be wrong) don't include the previews, only the Japanese, R2 DVDs do. And I think they didn't include the OPs/EDs to save space... well, as you can see there are other ways to do that wink
delicatessen: at this stage, I can't really say about the movies. And about Dragon Ball Z... Some groups already did that series recently, but I'm not saying no ;) First, I have to finish Dragon Ball (and Rurouni Kenshin :P)

awesome encode...didnt expect this one..thought u were gonna do slam dunk..well this is a nice choice..the best so far..

quality is amazing for such a small file size..

my only regret is why u didnt provide megaupload.com links please please provide those...

it took me nearly 4 hours to download from mediafire...where as it normally takes just bout 5 mins...

the second ep just stopped downloading at 99%

please begging u...could u use megaupload hence forth as ur primary DDL host..

Cool. I heard most of the time region 2 is better quality. But if you want to buy them here in america they are quite expensive and don't have english subs. Did you buy the dvds too?

Igro, great seeing some quality encodes. For DDL, is it possible to use Gigeshare.com over Megaupload? I'm not sure if it's just my IP range, but Megaupload will disconnect within 5 seconds of downloading.

What i meant with the above question was that? Did you use dvd iso images or did you use full dvds to rip eps because sometimes dvd iso images are compressed?

The reason I didn't upload to Megaupload is because of those awfully long queues.. (at least for my country..) But OK, I'll try to upload to Megaupload and Gigeshare from now on..
And I used DVD rips - you are right about the reencoded DVDs, plus downloading DVD ISOs for such a long serie would be a pain in the ass... >_<

Wow man the quality is awesome. I'm a Dragonball Fanatic so stuff like this is always a plus. And you're doing RK which is another one of my favorite series.

Don't worry about Megaupload. I'll put up mirrors there for you (if you want me to). I can download just fine from Mediafire so I can put them up.

So you are using RAW high quality dvd rips for both kenshin and Dragon Ball? and I don't have any problem with mediafire. It works ok. matter of fact it is better than megaupload. the waiting time for megaupload is terrible. If you were to ask me, stick with mediafire.

Well is it only me or did others have these problems as well...

well i just watched the first ep and encountered these problems..also this is only for the first ep...

video problems

at 17:04 it gets stuck...

1. the first ep - video get blocked at 19:58-19:59 for two seconds and

2. again the video gets blocked at 20:10 and the time just jumps to 20:17 and the blocking continues till 20:20

3. and during the preview the video just stops at 20:51 and doesnt play till 21:13

Well I checked through to see what you mentioned but the video played very smooth for me. None of the problems you mentioned happened.

If it helps I only use the CCCP Codec Pack with Media Player Classic. Maybe that will work.

CornBlitz, if you have problems with playback, drop by our channel - I'll help you there.
For now I can say this - try the playback guide here and be sure NOT to install any codec packs...
And Berwyn, thanks for the up, but why did you add "by Huerta"? :S "Upped by Huerta" would be better, if that's what you meant.. And are the filenames intact? Becuse I can't really see (stupid Megaupload >_>) and the CRC part is important :/

Yeah "by Huerta" was just something I put in all my files. It's a habit I had since I upload for a lot of sites and Huerta is kind of my main name. And yeah all the filenames are intact and untouched.

My problem is different :x

I only watch a little of ep5 with goku vs yamucha and when yamucha do the special move the effects dont work (the happens in all karaoke of rurouni kenshin)

I dont know why that happens...

Awesome releases! I've always wanted to find a good fansub of DB and now I did =)
But please, I don't mind if you use megaupload too, but don't switch to JUST megaupload. I hate them! They have limited slots for some countries (50 for Greece, where I live) and they're always full! To tell you the truth was never able to download from them :(
MediaFire is awesome! I didn't know it existed! Except for the 100 MiB per upload it's just great tongue

well i just noticed that on Anidb.info the source used for these eps of Dragon Ball is listed as DTV and not DVD. some users might get confused with this. u can just send them an email regarding this and asking them to change it to DVD.

@subzero - Try forwarding a few seconds before. That happens because the karaoke has already started so it's not rendered.

Neps doesn't work, the karaoke stays allaways in middle, dont foward and don't start too, only the karaoke of opening and ending from dragon ball works, anything else don't work

subzero, you probably don't have VSFilter installed (and you are using MPC ;) - consult the Playback guide on this site, or drop by our channel - #rabbit-force @ irc.rizon.net.
draickin: that is precisely why I am reluctant to upload to Megaupload - they limit connections in my country too angry
BTW, did you all like the effect I did for Yamucha's attack? :> Or should I stop doing that?

well i redownlodaed all of the eps from Berwyn's megaupload links..and they all work fine..also i liked the OP/ED karoake and the effects used for the attacks (although i've seen only one)

would like u to keep the effects..
